Below is the timeline from the moment we met, through our wedding and now our adoption process in reverse chronological order. The most detailed part is the adoption process as there is a lot happening there. May 1, 2014<\/td>\nWe received the Home Study via email<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
April 17, 2014<\/td>\nAdoption Review Committee<\/a> meeting at Our Kids<\/a>. We should hear within a few weeks.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
April 3, 2014<\/td>\nEmail ACW about psych eval. She says she is forwarding it to Our Kids that afternoon.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
March 31, 2014<\/td>\nPsych eval results emailed<\/a> to FRC and Our Kids.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
February 28, 2014<\/td>\nHusband meets with Dr. Woolman for his psychological evaluation.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
February 25, 2014<\/td>\nBack up caregiver results finally approved by FRC.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
February 24, 2014<\/td>\nReceived email from FRC CEO telling me nothing new. Disappointed.
\nBree from Our Kids calls and talks me down. I love her. She keeps me sane and grounded with this whole process talking us through the steps.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
February 22, 2014<\/td>\nAttended Our Kids Town Hall and met the CEO of FRC as well as many other influential people and made more parent friends. Gave the FRC CEO a piece of my mind about his staff and asked a few questions. He is going to look into it and call me on Monday.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
February 20, 2014<\/td>\nHusband needs to have a psychological evaluation<\/a> done due to his past. Commence finding a psychologist, freak out over prices, make an appointment then await the results.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
February 14, 2014<\/td>\nEmailed ACW for an update. No response.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
February 10, 2014<\/td>\nWe’re told FRC will provide info for husband’s psychological evaluation. We wait.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
February 7, 2014<\/td>\nBack up caregiver gets fingerprinted.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

January 30, 2014<\/td>\nOur file needs to be sent to Children’s Legal Services due to Husband’s past.

January 29, 2014<\/td>\nFRC requested an ARC date for us.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
January 17, 2014<\/td>\nEmailed for a follow up on approval. Told we needed to provide 10 years of address for additional background checking.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
January 14, 2014<\/td>\nHusband turned 43<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
January 4, 2014<\/td>\nFinal home visit for photos and more questions.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
January 3, 2014<\/td>\nRe-sent husband’s employment verification form.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
January 2, 2014<\/td>\nRe-sent 5th reference letter.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
December 17, 2013<\/td>\nOur Kids intervenes and pushes FRC<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
December 9, 2013<\/td>\nEmailed ACW for an update. No response.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
December 2, 2013<\/td>\nEmailed our marriage certificate, physicals, and final 2 references.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
November 1, 2013<\/td>\nAnother visit<\/a> to the ACW’s office.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

October 1, 2013<\/td>\nTook care of many pre-placement<\/a> documents, filled out forms, employee verifications, etc.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
September 28, 2013<\/td>\nMet our ACW for the first time<\/a> during a home visit<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
September 27, 2013<\/td>\nWent downtown to get our fingerprinting<\/a> done<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
September 20, 2013<\/td>\nTracked down our ACW as we hadn’t heard from her yet.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

July 27, 2013<\/td>\nWe attended the SFFAPA summer fun picnic<\/a> and met several foster and adoptive families.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
July 16, 2013<\/td>\nFirst PRIDE class<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
July 12, 2013<\/td>\nFirst home visit<\/a> by 2 of our PRIDE instructors.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
June 29, 2013<\/td>\nAttended Orientation<\/a> for PRIDE class with Family Resource Center (FRC)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
April 15, 2013<\/td>\nDecided to officially pursue adoption<\/a> from the US Foster Care System. I called the local agencies and signed us up for orientation class.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
September 2012<\/td>\nConsidered fertility drugs<\/a> for a second until realizing it wasn’t in the cards for us. Also, got nearly perfect bloodwork back from my RE.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
August 2012<\/td>\nInsured by my job, I went to a Reproductive Endocrinologist<\/a> and was officially diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome<\/a> (PCOS).
\nWe had 2 options to have kids at this point – go on fertility drugs and hope my body would work after 35 years of not working or go the adoption route. My insurance would not cover the fertility treatment and we didn’t have the money to spend in the slim hopes that it would work the first time.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
April 2011<\/td>\nRealized I was most likely infertile<\/a> but didn’t have insurance to go to a doctor to confirm it.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
December 2010<\/td>\nDecided to try to conceive and adopt within 2 years regardless of the outcome<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

November 28, 2007<\/td>\nMet in person for the first time… although there is some debate<\/a> over this date.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
