But what to do if you&#8217;re adopting an older child? I found this fantastic <a title=\"Adoption Gifts for Foster Care\/Kinship Adoptions\" href=\"https:\/\/www.etsy.com\/teams\/7722\/discussions\/discuss\/11527467\/page\/1\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a> with a TON of amazing information for honoring and welcoming adopted children into your family.<\/p>\n<p>After chatting with my friend Jackie a few nights ago, I totally want to have a meet my son\/<a title=\"adoption shower\" href=\"http:\/\/pinterest.com\/rbfletcher\/adoption-shower-ideas\/\" target=\"_blank\">adoption shower<\/a> for items to <a title=\"Amazon Wish List\" href=\"http:\/\/amzn.com\/w\/3VYAZASS6SHEB\" target=\"_blank\">build his library<\/a> of books and kid-friendly movies, show him all the love and support we have, and, most importantly, introduce him to his new family and our friends.<\/p>\n<p>From the above-mentioned <a title=\"Adoption Gifts for Foster Care\/Kinship Adoptions\" href=\"https:\/\/www.etsy.com\/teams\/7722\/discussions\/discuss\/11527467\/page\/1\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>, these are some of my favorites ideas to use. Also,\u00a0 I really want to find (or make) some awesome wall prints, artwork, creative bookshelves and more to make him feel really at home.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Making our own version of a &#8220;<a title=\"This is Me! Adopted Children Memory Album\" href=\"http:\/\/www.babysakes.com\/This_is_Me_Adopted_Children_Memory_Album_p\/as-8001-dom.htm\" target=\"_blank\">baby book<\/a>&#8216; from the moment he came into our home (including excerpts from this blog)<\/li>\n<li>A necklace with the date of their child\u2019s birth, the date the child was placed in their home, and the date the adoption was finalized by the court.<\/li>\n<li>Or maybe a plaque with these dates<\/li>\n<li>Or a picture frame to display the photo with the judge and entire team on their adoption day.<\/li>\n<li>Some families have a fun sense of humor and would enjoy a t-shirt or bumper sticker that says, \u201cYes, I\u2019m their REAL mom.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Others are more sentimental and like verses such as, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.etsy.com\/listing\/156668147\/born-in-my-heart-necklace\" target=\"_blank\">You grew in my heart<\/a>.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>A birth announcement only works after a child is born. What does a family do when they want to <a title=\"adoption anouncement\" href=\"http:\/\/pinterest.com\/pin\/206039751675226850\/\" target=\"_blank\">announce the addition<\/a> of an adopted child to their family? Not everyone is handy enough with a computer to make their own invitations and announcements.
